Cannot remove water with a bucket if trapped in a 1x1 hole

When I take water while player is trapped in a 1x1x1 water box that isn't make by transparent block, the Water will not become air, instead, it will stay as Water

 

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Trap yourself in a 1x1x1 box with water in swim mode.
2. Attempt to remove the water with a bucket.

Observed Results:
Water Block could take away, but the block is still water.
Expected Results:
Water Block could take away and the block will become air.
