i died because i can walk through leaves i didnt tp.

hi minecraft i would like to say TWO things. number 1. i was building an enderman farn with my brother and it was made out of leaves because enderman cant spawn on leaves so we were makeing a gard so that we would not fall but... i can walk through leaves for some reason and i died with all my netherite and items because of this. number 2. im building up to reach the end gate way  and i just take damage until i die. these bugs really bug me . i would like there to be a hotfix to fix this issue thank you for your time.
