Updating burnouts by redstone or blocks will not update the torch burnout

When placing down a torch burnout, it pulses 8 times, as usual.

When updating it by placing a block next to it or by placing redstone next to it does not update the torch burnout.

I am using an Amazon fire phone, which I am not sure if it qualifies as a "Tablet - Kindle Fire"
