Zombie pigmen won't stop attacking me (update 16.221)

I killed a few zombie pigmen about a week ago and even after leaving the neither, switching peaceful off and on and staying out of the neither for a while, they are still hostile and constantly attack me. I also tried the same thing on a different world to see if it was a one time thing and it isn't :/
