Sticky pistons will not push a bed

We placed a bed next to two sticky pistons. After activating the sticky pistons, the bed breaks and does not push. We are trying to make a hidden bed. Pictures attached are before turning on the switch (sticky pistons off), placing the bed (pistons still off), and after turning on the switch (pistons on, bed broken)
