tamed wolves go hostile

in survival mode i had 1 tamed wolf and 3 untamed wolves i accidentally hit 1 and my tamed wolf started attacking me i recreated the scenario in creative but with 1 and 2 untamed wolves and my wolf didnt go hostile on me i tried it with 3 and more and it happened again idk if theres any correlation with the number of untamed wolves and whether my wolf will attack me or not
