Wont load minecraft

I paused the most recent update of the game because when I try to load into a realm it will say that the realm is on an outdated server and the owner needs to update the world. When I tried to load Minecraft after he updated the server my Minecraft would not load at all. I will see the red Mojang Studios screen for about four seconds and the app closes itself sending me back to the home screen. I have tried restarting the game, restarting my Xbox, hard resetting my Xbox, and straight-up just waiting it out. The new update for the game has completely disappeared and says that the game is up-to-date yet I never resumed the update from when i paused it.
