Hunger effect isnt properly removed with milk

When I eat rotten flesh I gain the hunger status effect as normal, then I drank milk to remove the status so I could keep my hunger filled, and it appeared to work as normal removing the effect tag and particles and animation on the hunger bar, but then my hunger bar starts shaking as if I have hunger and rapidly depletes as it would with the status effect.
