Died, respawned, everything gone.

I started this world a month ago, was constructing a build of mine when I got attacked and killed by a witch. My respawn area is not far, so I walked back to the area in a few seconds pretty quickly only to find everything was gone. Only a few XP orbs remained. Luckily I have save files, but I'd be pretty furious if I lost my full Shulker boxes and max enchanted netherite armor because of a bug. My todem activated before I died, and when I respawned I had the expected extra health but AFTER I had already died. No creepers in the area, no cacti, no reason they shouldv'e disappeared. My bed was less than a few chunks away, and less than 1000 ticks had gone by.
