End Portal Glitch

When I got the portal ready to go finish the game the moment I entered the portal it didn't do anything for a second then it showed the " Heading to the end " screen, I got to the end but I was where you go after beating the Ender Dragon, and after about an hour of searching for a way out I had to let enderman kill me just so I wasn't stuck there forever. All I ask is that this gets a little look at and just so no one else gets unlucky like me. That's all, thanks.
