Unable to load characters from profile

I am no longer able to access any of my characters. When I open the profile page my characters will have the loading bars on them but I will get the "Failed to Load" notification at the top of the screen. It will pop up the option to reload but it continues to fail. I cannot create new characters either. It pops up failed to load when I select new clothing/hair/accessories/etc. The only thing that loads in are skins that I've purchased.
