Creating Custom Characters doesn't work

Sometime after I updated to version 1.16.220, I got the rainbow wool achievement, which has a reward for completing the achievement. When I switched to character creator nothing I clicked worked, like I could click on things but it just show the loading animation and Steve wouldn't change. The only thing that did work was emotes and skin packs.
