free Minecraft bedrock edition from java edition

I have Minecraft java edition and my friend told me that if you have java edition you can get bedrock edition for free so I searched up a video and I followed what it told me to do and my Minecraft account is already my Microsoft account so I didn't have to change it for the Microsoft store and I went and searched up Minecraft for windows 10 on the Microsoft store and it says I need to buy it. can you try to reach out to me and maybe try to help me if you can thanks.
