Me and my friends play the same map in split screen our characters turn to Steve or Alex and everything in our inventory are gone

When me and my friends play Minecraft bedrock edition in split screen. when we join the server everything in our inventory (except the creater of the map's inventory) is gone and our character's goes back to Steve or Alex and spawns us back to the map spawn.
