Flawed trading mechanics

After effectively creating my own village and with babies being born, I started to trade with a junior cleric only for all trades with all the villagers to be permanently disabled. All job blocks are present and there is a food source and meeting point. Currently, this is un-usable and I would appreciate if the mechanics could be improved so I can trade!
