Lag in Bedrock 1.16.220

After the 1.16.220 update, I have experienced a near-constant FPS drop and some sporadic lag spikes. The game only lags when generating/loading a new chunk; when only old chunks (generated before the update) are loaded, there is no lag. This happens in all worlds, including new ones.
