My minecraft application crashes every time I try to join my world

My power went out while I was playing on my survival world yesterday and when our power came back up and I tried logging into my world my Minecraft froze, every single time I've tried to log into the world my game just freezes and I have to close the application to be able to do anything. Is there a way I could get my world back I've put a lot of work into it and it's very sad if it's gone forever.
