Back/Select button doesn't work on mcpe:iOS

The back/select button of Xbox series X/S controller doesn't work in Minecraft bedrock on iOS

controller settings does not respond to the button, and controls bind-ed to the back/select button doesn't respond in game. the button works in Roblox perfectly fine which proves that the button isn't broken.

controller firmware and system software are all up to date
