Cant connect to servers

I can no longer join a Minecraft server, whenever i try to join a server (eg Mineplex) it shows the usual loading screen, then stops and shows a screen saying "could not connect to world" (attached below) 

 

This is very disappointing and frustrating as id like to be able to play online with my friends
