My Minecraft Character not coming up like suppose too

So my character/person- lately on my spanking new gaming laptop. (also my brother has issues with this some as well on his computer/xbox thing). So like i dress my person up and then next know it im some random person you know not the person i created. I cannot find that person so i get out and then like  get back on and remake my person even bought a new skin and it worked  but then i get off game and stuff for few hours come back and like that person is gone and i got this random blonde steve woman type of character.
