Unresponsive Furnace

When ever I open my world and try to use the furnace, the furnace does not work at all it unresponsive when entering and re-entering. It still does not work and it did work in the beginning but then stop working it does not cook or smelt anything. I appreciate your hard work on Minecraft, thank you.
