Wheat seeds grow slow and drop from 0-2 seeds

im trying to mae a wheat farm to make bread for myself and breed cows for bookshelves to enchant but the seeds grow for 5 mins and drop 0-2 seeds, so geting wheat is very hard to get unless bone mealed.
