Crafting button sends player to inventory

when I try to go into crafting it sends me to inventory so I plugged in my xbox one controller to my laptop and when I click X (crafting) it sends me to inventory and when I click Y (inventory) it sends me to inventory. I checked the options menu thinking that the buttons were set to the same one but they are not Crafting is button 2 (X) and inventory is button 3 (Y)
