mouse still not working on xbox one

my mouse and keyboard plugged in as normal the game loads up, and i cannot see my mouse, nor the cursor. i cant click anything but it thinks im on the controller. So if i disconnect my controller, it will say “controller disconnected” which should not happen as i have a keyboard and mouse so, if i go into my world i can move around with both keyboard and mouse, but if i click inventory, or try to use any buttons on the mouse, i cant see my mouse again. Basically, if i plug it thinks im on the controller but the mouse is plugged in and i cant see the mouse at all.
this has been going on for a while now. i have unplugged and switched ports and reset my xbox many times.
