Player glitches into boat while mining

The last two times I went mining down a deep cave, I would simply be walking and suddenly spawn in the boat I had built, on the river outside of the mine.

I originally made the world in the "Old" type, on Creative, and made it infinite. I am currently playing on survival, peaceful mode. Also, the boat does not regenerate where I had left it, it generates thirty blocks or so away.
