Nether tunnel getting blocked

When you dig a tunnel underground in the netherworld after 1000 blocks game crashes and when you go back in world the tunnel is gone and it is as if you didn't make a tunnel. All players in the tunnel get suffocated and lose all their stuff instantly by the blocks suffocating it
