Furnace items disapear

Not all pc's on the windows 10 Beta edition home network are able to use the furnace to smelt.
When my son enters the furnace and puts items in and fuel, he exits the furnace then goes back in the items have disappeared so he is not able to smelt on his pc.
any help in this matter would be great!
