playing on lan causes block to become other blocks

When playing in my friends world the blocks look like different blocks. Like pumpkins are stairs, doors become buttons, water is trapped doors and other things I can't even describe.

It doesn't look like that on the world owners computer , but to me and other visitors it does.

We tried restarting, loading different resource packs but it's still glitched.
