Controllers and Minecarts

I'm using a controller to play, and I found an issue that doesn't appear when using touch. When I enter a Minecart, whatever button I use to get in it, it acts as if I'm spamming the button. I continuously place down blocks when in Creative. In order to stop it, I have to exit the Minecart first, then use either a GUI button (pause or inventory), or press either place or destroy. I've even remapped the controls several times, and it continues to happen.
