Hot bar glitch

Playing a creative world to test the caves and cliffs beta features on Xbox 1. I was caving and found copper ore, I equipped my hotbar with a diamond pic axe and an iron pic axe in the third and fourth spaces. And switched to survival to mine the ore. The items are usable, breakable, but not moveable. I am unable to place either pic axe into a chest or my inventory. I cannot drop them or clear the hotbar at all. The only way the space clears is if they break completely.
