Xbox One Beta: Can't exit character creator screen

Once we enter the character creator in a world, we're unable to exit the character creator screen. The exit button is clickable, but nothing visible happens after clicking. We're left stuck on the character creator and have to exit the game and quit Minecraft from the Home screen. Entering the creator from the main menu allows exit. This happens with multiple texture packs.
