Signs on walls

When I place a sign on the wall and run water into the sign. It doesn't block the water from coming in like it's supposed to. I'm trying to make an XP farm and the sign on the wall doesn't stop the water. The water instead knocks the sign off the wall like if the sign were a torch. The version of MCPE is actually Beta 5.
