MCPE Multiplayer doesnt save inventory

Device(s): IPad Mini & ASUS Nexus 7
Situation: IPad Mini is hosting a multiplayer game, Nexus 7 is connected.
Issue: If Nexus 7 reconnects its invetory gets cleared.
Additional Information: Is this intended to happen, is it because Im trying to cross-platform, or is this due to the new firmware or hardware of the IPad Mini?
