Spawning in wall

I slept in a bed in my house, therefore making it my new spawn point. Later, when I died instead of spawning on the bed (Like you would when waking up) I spawned in the wall.

Ps. Because of which I went into creative to break the wall (Not knowing I would stay alive long enough in survival.) Do you think what I did was cheep?
