Mine cart Goes Slowly

On my Nook HDPlus, with the 0.13.0 beta, build 3, to move a mine cart you have to hold on the forward button all the time, and the cart moves very slowly. I've had this error every time I try riding a mine cart in creative mode. I have yet to see if it happens in survival mode.
