Black particles and Indoor Rain

After logging in to my Minecraft Bedrock 1.16.201 server, I noticed that it was raining underground. However, the rain was pitch black. After a few minutes, I noticed that all the particles around me were devoid of colour. Here are two screenshots. I am clueless to why this happened, as it has never happened to me before.
