Cannot log in Nintendo Switch

Unable to sign in to Microsoft Account in Minecraft for Nintendo Switch. Pressing the sign-in button causes a box to appear saying 'connecting' but after this nothing happens. I have tried the 'clear account sign in data' button as well as deleting and reinstalling the game (including all save data) but nothing has worked. I have tried with multiple Microsoft Accounts but none work.
