I am unable to join a friend’s world.

When I try to join my sister’s world, it always says that I am unable to join. We use the same version of Minecraft, and we update at the same time. I don’t know what the problem is, but sometimes I have to log in and log out multiple times before it actually lets me. This has been going on for a few months now and it’s getting VERY annoying. Please help ._.
