hotbar item switching

1.16.201 and previus

Sometimes when i try do switch to an item in my hotbar, it switches for a second and then it goes back to the previus sloth. For example: when i swith from my sword in my first sloth end i want to switch ot a potion in my 9th sloth i press 9 and the game reacts but it emedietly switches back. Its really frustrating.
