Able to see rain falling through everything

I'm able to see rain falling through everything but it doesn't make noise hitting on the ground unless I go outside. Even if I dig through a hill for example I can still see rain falling but it doesn't make the sound rain unless I'm outside. I've tried putting multiple layers of bedrock on a roof to see if it makes the rain stop falling through but that doesn't work either.
