Cross Platform on Nintendo Switch Not Working

For the past few weeks, I've encountered errors when trying to join multiplayer games from my Switch. When I try to join, I'll either get an infinite loading screen or a notification saying that the connection timed out. It'll take me 5-6 tries to get into a world with other people in it.
I've never had issues like this before. It started earlier this month and hasn't stopped since.
