Red screen glitch

The mojang logo appears when launching then just a red flickering screen. I have reset, uninstalled and reinstalled. My drivers are up to date.

It appears there are a lot of others with the same issue left unresolved for a very long time.

How can I fix this? The game was a present for my son so not happy.
