Red screen of death

hello

we have a problem with Minecraft not loading beyond the red screen which is totally blank. we have tried removing and reloading Minecraft from the app store, updating the graphics drivers, updating the windows drivers but nothing has worked. you can hear the Minecraft music playing in the background but the screen is just blank red.

any help appreciated.
