invite button not showing up when in a world

my worlds multiplayer settings when not on it are on but when in the world it's switched off and is grayed out so i cannot change it. the invite button also isn't showing up. this is new as i've played on this world before with the same friend i'm trying to invite only 12 hours ago. cellular data is turned on etc
