Teleporting Animals Cannot Teleport to The Character if They Fly with the Elytra

When I fly my elytra in both Survival and Creative with a dog or cat following me they are unable to teleport to me when I land. They stay where I last saw them. Don’t even try to teleport.

The user is on a PC using an XBox controller in this video. I am using mobile.
