Horses completely disappearing upon game crashing

Game crashes with an error message on home screen. I load back in and the horse I was riding, armor and all, have vanished. I searched the whole map and reloaded the game multiple times. Losing a horse plus a saddle is really annoying and its happened multiple times. Mostly on multiplayer. Thanks
