Black screen / won't load

Since I updated to 12.1, the app will not load at all. I have to click the home screen to get out. i've tried uninstalling and reinstalling. i also tried looking for the previous version of the app, but cannot find a reputable source for this. Please help!

I am on Android 4.0.4
