Skin/Persona Items don't show after adding the player.entity.json to a custom resource pack.

Adding the player.entity.json file under RP_NAME/entity/player.entity.json from the default RP breaks Skin / Persona Items.

The Player's skin gets reset to Steve. It is possible to switch back to regular skin without geometry changes. But it's not possible to set a customized Persona Modell under Menu/profile
