Can't open Minecraft

Ever since the 1.16.200 update I have been unable to open Minecraft properly.  It opens up, shows the red screen that says 'Mojang' and then gets stuck in the nether-circling animation.  there is no title or buttons to press.  

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game and restarting my desktop multiple times with no luck.  

One time I clicked where the "play" button would be and it opened a world that was, in my best description, shattered.  It looked like a broken tv or cellphone screen.  Pic is below. 

I can open Minecraft normally on my xbox.
