The new update broke minecraft

Minecraft was updated to the new version, and this update broke the game, the menu didn't show up, after relogging a few times and restarting the computer it still wouldn't come up. As well as when it did show up, and when entering a world instead of looking like minecraft it looked distorted and the inventory wasn't right. Even with uninstalling and reinstalling didn't fix the issue.
